I need to take a better look at Barebones, but probably? I wouldn’t say that FtB and Cairn 2e are incompatible per se, but FtB was written when the worldbuilding in Cairn was much more implicit, and it doesn’t take advantage of a lot of the procedures that have been added since. It’s probably best to think of FtB as a forestcrawl for Cairn, similar (but not congruent) to the forestcrawl procedures outline in the 2e Warden’s Guide.
No definitive news yet, but yes, I have been chipping away at the next iteration of Follow the Bones, with the intent of updating it to take advantage of the procedures introduced by Cairn 2e, and to fit a little more snugly into the better defined world of the Vald. I’ll definitely send a message to itch purchasers of the game once I have something to show. I’m glad to know there’s interest, though, so thanks for the comment!
I'm interested to purchase it. When I purchase the current version, will it get the update for Cairn 2e, or should I wait for the other release of follow the bones?
The follow-up I’m currently working on is not an update of this version, but an entirely new set of prompts, so it will be a separate purchase from this one.
Man, I'm having a struggle with my IQ to understand the procedures, hahaha. It's a delight to read, but too abstract for someone like me to put into practice. Don't you have a video or blog post teaching how to use it in a practical way?

I noticed a potential error. In the Encounters list one of the entries for Circumstance is "Benevolent". In the actual lists the entries are called "Auspicious". I figured you might have changed from one to the other at some point maybe? Doesn't matter much but might be good to correct for consistency.
Oh wow. Yeah, the entry headings changed a ton during development, and I thought I had gotten everything revised properly, but I guess not. I’ll get that changed and a revised version uploaded. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
What format did you have in mind? US Letter sized? Right now I’m finishing up another project that should go live soon (maybe even today), but give me a few more details on what you have in mind, and I’ll take a look at it once the new thing is in a good place.
US letter would be great but definitely don't worry about it if you're busy. Creative juices must be used before they dry up! Patience is one of my virtues so no rush.
Great to see a revised edition. I'm looking forward to giving it a go. And I've just read about Riddle and Tilt — really interesting. Seems pretty elegant on paper!
a very simple and elegant travel oracle. Uses 2d4 and a waypoints/stages kind of system to propel your narrative forward. Very worthy of having in a travel toolkit, especially for solo players. Doesnt present too much information to overwhelm, but the results are evocative. Glad to have picked this up!

Now that the Cairn 2e Barebones edition (more setting agnostic) is out, is this edition more compatible?
